The Studio 5 concept involves re-thinking the role of a teacher in order to release more responsibility and control of why, how and what is learned to students.
Studio 5 will not be composed of four Homeroom Teachers. Instead, it will be staffed by eight “Advisors”. This word has been chosen as it means “one who advises or counsels” and is more reflective of the teacher’s role in a self-directed learning environment.
The eight Studio 5 Advisers are:
Taryn Bond-Clegg – Primary Teacher
Nancy Snyder – Literacy Specialist
Matthew Pugliese – Primary Teacher
Tania Mansfield – PYP Coordinator
Suzanne Kitto – Primary Teacher
Patrick O’Keefe – Music Teacher
Amanda Romano – Primary Teacher
Carlos Villalobos – English as Additional Language Teacher
As Primary Principal and leading innovator behind the Studio 5 concept, Kurtis Peterson will play an active role in the everyday practices of Studio 5.
Studio 5 will also be supported by two highly competent and learner-focused Teaching Assistants:
